Wife of the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Dr Martha Emmanuel has called on the people of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area to vote and re-elect Obong Godwin Ekpo, member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly in the forthcoming elections.

Dr Emmanuel who advised the people to be steadfast with PDP, disclosed on Saturday during the PDP/Umo Eno Governorship campaign rally at Ibiono Ibom Council Headquarters, Okoita .

The governor’s wife who described Obong Godwin Ekpo as a man of capacity, urged his constituents to re-elect him for more effective representation.

“I call him Ekpo,vote for him, don’t make mistake, re-elect him so that he will continue to give you effective representation,” she said.

The first Lady , while thanking the people of the area for supporting his husband , Mr Udom Emmanuel for the past years, encouraged them to vote for Pastor Umo Eno, the PDP Governorship Candidate for him to continue from where Governor Udom Emmanuel will stop in May 29,2023, stressed that, Pastor Umo Eno is a selfless leader that will not disappoint them.

She however, decried the hardship Nigerians are currently facing, hinted that, many factories, organisations are closed down due to wrong policies , urged them to vote for leaders that will change the narrative.

Also speaking, the state Deputy Governor, Mr Moses Ekpo appreciated the people of the area for their support for the PDP , said , the area has never recorded opposition to government from the days of the pioneer Paramount Ruler, advised them to mobilize and vote for all the PDP Candidates in forth coming general elections.

He also hinted that, the governorship candidate of the party, Pastor Umo Eno is a man of integrity who has not been found wanting in the offices he has served, urged them to vote for him .

“Ibiono Ibom has never recorded opposition, i advise you to be steadfast with PDP, i am confirming to you that Pastor Umo Eno is the Candidate of the party “.

” God has given Akwa Ibom a man of Integrity, candour and concern for people,he delivered all his assignment in the cabinet,vote for Umo Eno and PDP from bottom to top “, he added.

Addressing the crowd, the People’s Democratic Party ( PDP) governorship candidate , Pastor Umo Eno who applauded Ibiono Ibom for their support, said he has been tutored in the private sector, promised to establish commercial Agriculture, health, infrastructure, education and security in the area so as to provide employment opportunities for the teeming youths.

While saying, he intend to establish a fashion village in the area to shift traffic from Uyo, build low Housing Estate for civil servants , assured them that if elected, he will commission Ikpanya road in his first hundred days in office.

Pastor Eno further added that, leadership in the state at the moment is not only about having money, but having a leader with the ability to lead the state from where governor Udom Emmanuel will stop with infrastructure, employment and better the livelihood of the Akwa Ibomites.

“God’s kingdom must continue in Akwa Ibom State, we will continue to build the young people and build the source of livelihood “.

” Leadership is not money, but the ability to lead the state from where Udom will end, what you need is a leader that will remember Ibiono Ibom with infrastructure, give youths employment, i promise you that we will put contractors to complete Use – Ikot – Amama road “, he said.

Meanwhile, the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency, Obong Godwin Ekpo who was visibly elated expressed appreciation to God for making the campaign rally a success, commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the strides his administration has recorded, re-affirmed his loyalty and support to the completion Agenda and succession plan of Governor Udom Emmanuel.

Obong Ekpo, who said his Party’s victory at the forth coming elections is sacrosanct, assured them that, Ibiono Ibom will deliver 100% votes for PDP.

The lawmaker who is also the Chairman,House Committee on Education , called on his constituents to support his re-election bid for more impactful and purpose driven representation as he has not perform below expectations in his first term.

Also speaking, the Ibiono Ibom PDP Chapter Chairman, Rt Hon Enobong Ekong while saying that Ibiono Ibom is proud of Governor Udom Emmanuel , commended him for his lofty projects in the area especially the Dakkadda Skills Acquisition center , Ikot Ada Idem ,the recently flagged off General Hospital and for appointing Ibiono Ibom sons and daughters into his cabinet.

The chapter Chairman however reaffirmed their readiness to vote for all the PDP Candidates, stressed that, the 199 units in Ibiono Ibom will return PDP.
