13 Chapter Coordinators of the Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly ( ACA) has adopted the PDP governorship candidate , Pastor Umo Eno as their sole candidate for Saturday’s governorship election .
The coordinators who made their decision known on Monday in Uyo at a well attended meeting of the group , said Pastor Umo Eno has the needed capacity to govern the state .
According to a press statement available to newsmen, they group said, they were misinfomed about the emergence of Pastor Umo Eno as the preferred candidate before the timely revelation that informed their decision to declare their support for him.
The Chapter Coordinators with their ward and Unit Coordinators however announced their decision to officially leave Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly ( ACA) ,wished to be addressed as Generation of Truth For Good Governance, expressed their readiness to team up with the Father’s In Faith For Good Governance and work for the success of Pastor Umo Eno at the polls.
According to the State Chairman of the Generation of Truth For Good Governance, Apostle (Dr) Anthony Akpanudo in a press statement jointly signed by the 13 Chapter coordinators, said, they decided to break out of Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly ( ACA) and follow Pastor Umo Eno based on the revelation God gave to them and his capacity to take the state to a greater height.
“Brethren , we have decided to make this huge sacrifice because we believe it is the right thing to do for the common good of Akwa Ibom people and for the sake of the future generation”.
” We believe Pastor Umo Eno administration will keep the peace we are enjoying “.
Dr Akpanudo while saying that, misinformation among other things influenced their decision at ACA, said, no one can fight who God has chosen .
” Iike I said earlier, at times , we were not given the right information , there were certain things we did not know then , now we have come to know the truth and we have decided to stand by the truth , after our prayer meeting, God instructed us that Pastor Umo Eno is the candidate we should support “.
“Apart from the revelation , we know Pastor Umo Eno as a peace loving person and we know he will continue with the good works of Governor Udom Emmanuel” .
The Chairman also hinted that the interest of the Father’s in Faith in who govern the state is for peace & progress .
” We know him as a good man and he will succeed, the interest of the Father’s in Faith in Pastor Umo Eno is capacity, peace and progress “.
In a separate interview, Pastor John Achibong , the former ACA Coordinator, Uruan chapter, who said they cannot be influence by the decision of the leadership of ACA, hinted that, Pastor Umo Eno have served as secretary of the Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly for years, that his dealings with them shows that he is a peaceful man with capacity to lead which necessitated their decision to follow Him .
‘ To be very honest , I am a Pastor and he is a pastor & a born again Christian , I wouldn’t want to vote for someone who is not in the field that we are, that is what necessitated us to follow Pastor Umo Eno, we have been in ACA for a long time, waiting and hoping Umo Eno will be adopted by ACA , but as at Sunday , ACA decided to go the other way ,we cannot be influence by other people decision , we have come together and declare our support for Pastor Umo Eno, because we are Pastors ,we cannot go the other way “.
He further added that , they witnessed the endorsement of another party candidate, but, they are not part of it , maintaining that , as Christians who reads the Bible in between lines , they believe in the leadership qualities and capacity of Pastor Umo Eno.
” I witnessed the endorsement of another governorship candidate by ACA , that is why we came out to say no that we are not part of it ,we cannot continue in that part ” .
“Pastor Umo Eno has been the Secretary of ACA right from inception , we know his capacity ,contributions and sacrifices ,that is why we are rooting for him”
They group also commended Governor Udom Emmanuel for the tremendous development the state has witnessed in the last 8 years ,said, the developmental projects were possible because the governor made peace the focal point of his administration.
