Okpolupm Etteh Mourns Mbang’s Departure

Nigeria’s House of Representatives Member, Rt Hon. Okpolupm Etteh  has mourned the departure of the former President,World’s Methodist Council, Dr Sunday Mbang,describing the late clergy as a gift to humanity.

Etteh who represents Eket/ONNA/Esit Eket/Ibeno Federal Constituency in the National Assembly made this known on Friday , 11 August at Methodist Church,Nigeria, Liverpool Road,Eket at the funeral service of the departed Christian icon.

While recalling the many positive attributes of the late Christian leader whom he said lived a life worth emulating, he added that the Prelate emeritus of the Methodist Church was bold in his advocacy for righteousness and accountability in governance and that he ( Mbang) was an instrument of blessing to Christian faithfuls across the world.

Acknowledging the vacuum left behind by the former Chairman, Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN), he urged the family to accept his exit as an act of God, while praying God to grant his soul eternal rest.

The burial ceremony had in attendance the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, his predecessors, Mr Udom Emmanuel and Obong Victor Attah as well as Nigeria’s former President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Presidential candidate of the Labour party at the last elections, Mr Peter Obi, and top other dignitaries across the country.
