A’Ibom Governor’s Wife Counsels New Couple

Wife of Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Patience Umo Eno, has advised married couples to guard against interference from external elements in order to ensure that their marriages last long.

The First Lady gave the counsel on Saturday, November 25, 2023, during the wedding ceremony between Miss Mary Effiong Ekpo and Mr Emmanuel Victor Sunday at All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket local Government Area.

The First Lady who represented her husband, Governor Umo Bassey Eno, delivered a warm congratulations to the newly wedded couple, while urging them to remain faithful and committed to the union.

“To the couple of today, you have heard the word, ‘No man’, that no man means no man. In the Bible, man means woman, boy, girl, female, male, everybody encompassing.Do not allow any man into your marriage, have you heard? Take the word home”. She advised.

In a sermon, Pastor Ndaeyo Udomfuk, who preached on the topic, “Let No Man”, with Bible reference drawn from the book of Matthew 19:6, said marriage comprise of two different people from seperate backgrounds, ideologies, belief and norms and noted that it is the responsibility of the couple to ensure that their marriage last.

While encouraging the couple to prevent third party interference in their marriage and be sensitive to each others needs, Pastor Udomfuk listed tendencies that destroys marriage to include, lack of communication, mistrust, unforgiveness, lack of attention, urging the couple to apply knowledge in their dealings.

The couple, Mr and Mrs Emmanuel Sunday, praised God for his love and grace in making their day a reality.

They appreciated the Governor and First Lady of Akwa Ibom State for their love, prayers and support as well as members of the All Nations Christian Ministry International and Faith Tabernacle Congregation Church in Eket for gracing the occasion. The couple prayed God Almighty to bless them.

The event featured taking of the legal charge/declaration of intent, exchange of Rings, administration of communion to the couple and presentation of the couple to the congregation as husband and wife.

Accompanying the First Lady were the wife of the former Military Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Funmi Nkanga, wife of the SSG, Dr. Inemesit Uwah, Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs Idongesit Etiebiet, Commissioner for Water and Sanitation, Mrs Enobong Mboho, Wife of the Federal House Member representing Esit Eket and Ibeno Federal Constituency, Mrs Ekaette Okpolupm Etteh among others.
