One Year Anniversary: Governor Umo Eno Has Done Exceedingly Well – AKSEPWMA Boss

As Akwa Ibom people roll out drums in celebration of Pastor Umo Eno’s one year in office, the Chairman of Akwa Ibom State Environmental Protection and Waste Management Agency (AKSEPWMA), Obong Prince Akpan Ikim has congratulated the executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno for his sterling leadership qualities in the last one year, described his performance as superlative.

Prince IKim who said Pastor Umo Eno has done exceeding well, made this know last Saturday in an interaction with newsmen, during May monthly environmental sanitation in the state which focused on disilting of drains.
Ikim, further commended Pastor Eno for investing in AKSEPWMA for efficient operations of keeping the state clean, hinted that, the state government has given adequate attention to the challenges of the agency including purchasing more equipment for waste management, reiterated the readiness of AKSEPWMA to deliver on their mandate, sustain residents attitude in participating in environmental sanitation and keeping their environment healthy.
The Board Chairman also expressed the agency’s gratitude to the state governor for the approval to engage more personnel’s in the agency, which according to him, will create employment opportunity for the teeming youths, said, engagement of 150 personnel’s from Ibom Community Watch (ICW) is underway for training on enforcement of the environmental laws to boost the workforce of the agency.
Meanwhile, he applauded residents of the state for their active participation in disilting of drains and keeping their environment clean, said AKSEPWMA is sensitizing the grassroots on cleanliness by partnering with the Village Heads and youth leaders of various communities to achieve a healthy environment.
Ikim, also explained that, environmental Sanitation is not a day affair, intimated that, when they came on board in 2018, they splited environmental sanitation into Pre – environmental sanitation exercise, post sanitation exercise and Mop -up sanitation exercise for a thorough cleanup which has given the agency the facelift.
He also thanked the volunteers including, Yama Chorale Africa, AWHAK and Youth Corps Members for their readiness to assist the state government in keeping the state clean.
The Board Chairman monitored May Environmental exercise alongside Board members and management staff of the Agency including, Hon Victor Henry, Prince Charles Emembong and Engr Anietie Elijah, Head of Administration, Mr Ikpim E. Ikpim, Head of Waste; Mr. Emmanuel Emah and Head of PRS, Mr. Daniel Harry.
