Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Eno has reaffirmed his commitment and readiness to continue to serve the people of the state with accountability and transparency, even as he stressed that,  Akwa Ibomites at home and in the Diaspora has a stake in the Akwa Ibom Project which his administration owes accountability .

 The Governor who said he has served the State in the last one year with integrity from his heart, made this known in a Media briefing to mark his one year in office with members of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council at Government House , Uyo on 28th May 2024.

” To the best of my ability, I have served Akwa Ibom State with all my heart in the last one year”.

Pastor Eno, who declared his desire to serve the people better, promised to stay within the agenda of service, announced that, additional  workforce will be recruited into the state civil service, with due process of  employment  base on merit.

“We want to set up a computer center that can take at least 250 computers for our interviews ,our exams and for our students to use in writing  JAMB. Every entry into the Civil Service under my watch will have to go through that center. I do not want a slot, nobody should ask for a slot, put all your slots let them go and sit for the exam where results would be announced same day.  We require only the best. When you get the job,you face the job knowing you don’t have a godfather or godmother,it’s only you and God “.

While calling on the people to support for his administration, he urged them to engage in farming activities, as his administration has declared every 1st Friday and 3rd Friday of the month as farming days to boost agricultural proceed.

He also appreciated the media community in the State for their support, promised more robust  grassroots engagement and  developmental projects   that will beneficiary to all and sundry,  announced an on the spot assessment at the  Special Children School, Mbiabong-Etoi for intervention.

In his opening remarks, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr Ekerette Udoh appreciated the media community for their support to the ARISE AGENDA, said Pastor Umo Eno represents  purposeful leadership and  united Akwa Ibom State.

Also speaking, the State Chairman of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Amos Etuk commended Pastor Umo Eno for his sterling leadership qualities, declared the state Council under his watch unalloyed  support  to government programs for the betterment of the society .

Comrade Etuk, who described the Governor as the most media friendly Governor in Nigeria, rated his one year scorecard as unprecedented, acknowledged that,  Pastor Umo Eno’s leadership has embraced the state with open arms .
