The association expressed its gratitude to the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for organizing the festival, which aimed to discover talents from the region. However, SWAN expressed disappointment over the poor performance of Team Akwa Ibom in the competition.

At a recent congress held at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo, SWAN also congratulated Elder Paul Bassey on his appointment as Commissioner for Sports and wished him well in his new role.
