Over 1263 members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints gathered over the weekend for the just-concluded annual conference of the Uyo Nigeria Stake, a spiritually uplifting event marked by powerful teachings, leadership instruction, and inspired counsel.

The two-day spiritual gathering, which began on Saturday, June 21st and concluded on Sunday, June 22nd, 2025, was presided over by the Stake President, President Adiel Okon Ntuk.

The theme of the conference, “Think Celestial,” echoed throughout every session, calling members to raise their sights and focus on eternal goals in their daily choices and family life.

In his Sunday address, Stake President Adiel Ntuk urged members to “Think Celestial” by prioritizing things of eternal worth. He emphasized the importance of education and skill development, urging young people and families to view them as divine mandates for self-reliance and service.

President Ntuk further called on married couples to strengthen their homes.

He counseled wives to honor and respect their husbands regardless of financial or social circumstances, while charging husbands to preside over their homes with love, care, and righteousness. Children, he added, should honor and obey their parents so that their lives may be long and meaningful.

According to him, “the world teaches convenience, but we teach covenants,” he declared. “To think celestial is to live daily with eternity in mind—choosing faith over fear, and divine purpose over worldly pressure.”

The Saturday session featured a dedicated leadership training for organizational heads across the stake.

The training, facilitated by stake leaders, aimed at refreshing knowledge, strengthening administrative skills, and increasing the spiritual capacity of local leaders.

One of the notable highlights of the day was the ordination of 25 prospective Elders to the office of Elder in the Melchizedek Priesthood—a testament to the growing maturity and commitment of male members in the stake.

The conference pulpit was graced by a wide range of speakers, including children from the Primary organization, young men, Relief Society sisters, skilled professionals, and experienced Church leaders.

Their messages centered on topics critical to both spiritual and temporal progress: building God-centered families, honoring eternal marriage covenants, embracing skill acquisition and educational advancement, and faithfully following the teachings of Jesus Christ.

The conference concluded with a renewed sense of unity, purpose, and spiritual energy among attendees.

As members returned to their various wards and branches, many expressed deep gratitude for the timely messages, rich inspiration, and loving fellowship shared during the weekend.

With the strength of the Spirit and a clear call to “Think Celestial,” the Uyo Nigeria Stake stands poised for greater spiritual growth and community impact in the months ahead.
