Deputy Governor Urges Women to Arise For Tinubu, Akpabio, Eno Re-election Bid

Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi has appealed to women in Urue Offong – Oruko and Oron Local Government Areas to support the re-election of President Bola Tinubu, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Umo Eno, citing their commitment to policies benefiting the masses.

Addressing a women sensitization tour at Urue Offong-Oruko council hall and Oron Civic Centre on wednesday, Senator Eyakenyi praised Governor Umo Eno’s leadership, highlighting 11 projects executed in Urue Oruko, with 10 commissioned, one ongoing and numerous projects in Oron.
She urged women in the two local government areas to register with the All Progressives Congress (APC), revalidate their voters’ cards and support the leaders’ re-election bid.

The Chairman of Urue Offong-Oruko Local Government Area, Rt. Hon. Umo Etim Uno, thanked Governor Eno for constructing the first state government tarred road in the area, Arise Homes and Health center amongst others.

He also mentioned projects executed by his administration in the last 1 year to include, furnished teachers’ quarters, 4 transformers, mini bridge, solar water facilities, council hall, announced that empowerment of women is underway.
In their goodwill messages, stakeholders including the executive Chairman of Oron Local Government Area, Hon (Prince Okon Ewene, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Inibehe Silas, Hon Alice Ekpeyong, Mrs Mary Abia , Hon Martin Esin, Mrs Elizabeth Uno , Hon Orman Esin lauded Governor Umo Eno’s leadership and efforts to sensitize women on civic responsibilities.
The event featured health checks in both Local Government Areas .
