Little Light Women and Children Initiative, a Non-governmental Organization committed to empowering women, youth and children, in partnership with DAS Generation successfully hosted the 2026 International Women’s Day Conference on March 7th, 2026.

The event themed “Rights. Justice. Action. Give to Gain.”, which  took place at Emmjm Hotel, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, brought together young women eager to take action and shape their futures.

In her opening remarks, Dr. Munachiso Odulana , the Founder of Little Light Women and Children Initiative, a  Gender Advocate and Gender and Social Inclusion Consultant for Bank of Industry’s iDICE Programme,  welcomed participants , hinted that,  her vision is for a more equitable society, where women and children thrive.

With a passion for creating lasting change, she emphasized the initiative’s commitment to empowering women, youth , children and expressed gratitude to her partners, speakers and participants for attending the program .

The conference featured insightful sessions on women’s rights, led by Mrs. Ekemini George, covering topics like bodily autonomy and educational rights. Mrs. Blessing Nsiffiok’s session on “Give to Gain” encouraged participants to add value to others and build financial intelligence.

A highlight of the event was the hands-on liquid soap production training session, led by Mrs. Queen Esther of EL-QUEENMIX, where participants learned liquid soap making.

Participants applauded the initiative’s convener, Dr. Munachiso Odulana and her team for their dedication in making the conference a success.

The conference culminated in the presentation of certificates to participants, recognizing their commitment to learning and growth.
