IKONO/INI SUPPLEMENTARY ELECTION: GLORY EDET’S CANDIDACY GETS MORE ENDORSEMENT

The candidacy of Dr Glory Edet, the PDP candidate for the upcoming Ikono/Ini federal constituency supplementary election which is scheduled for February 3, has continued to receive more endorsements with the latest coming from units 3 in Iwerre, ward 5 and Unit 3 Mbiabong Ikot Udo,ward 6 of Ini LGA.

The people made their position known, Saturday, January 27, when the unit campaign train of the immediate past Honourable Commissioner berthed in their wards.

At Government Primary School, Iwerre Ward 5, the people of Edem Urua, Unit 3 came out in their numbers and unanimously affirmed that they will not fail to give full support to their granddaughter to represent Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency, adding that she has never been found wanting whenever she was called upon to serve.

Similarly, party supporters from Mbiabong Ikot Udo ,Unit 3 of  ward 6 who gathered at Government Primary School, Mbiabong Etim, reassured the candidate that come February 3, they will cast their votes for her because of her concerns for the wellbeing of the people in the area and her efforts in attracting development to the area.

Speaking at the gathering, Dr. Edet appreciated the people of both wards for the steadfastness that they have continued to show for the PDP over the years and thanked them for having stood by her during her tenure as Honourable Commissioner.

“Upon my victory at the upcoming supplementary election on February, 3, my administration will create jobs, empowerment for the women, elders, traditional fathers and less-privileged; I have never disappointed you, I will continue to make you proud”, she said.

The Member for Ini state constituency, Deacon Lawrence Udoide, expressed confidence that the people of Iwerre ward 5, and Mbiabong Ikot Udo, ward 6 will return Dr. Glory Edet at the upcoming poll.

Dr. Offiong Offor, who is the Honourable Commissioner for Agriculture and Rural Development, in her remarks,  said, “Dr. Glory Edet is a grandchild of Edem Urua and i believe you won’t let her down”. She charged the electorates from the 2 affected Units in ward 5 and 6 to vote PDP enmase on February 3.

The TC Chairman of Ini LGA, Cormd. Inibehe Umah, charged party supporters of both wards to be steadfast in their commitment for PDP and appealed for their total support at the upcoming supplementary election.

Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong, HSA on Special Projects reassured Dr. Glory Edet that Edem Urua, unit 003, Ward 5 and Mbiabong Ikot Udo, unit 003, ward 6 will deliver massively for PDP at the upcoming supplementary election.

Rt. Hon Emmanuel Ebe, former Council Chairman, Ini LGA, in his admonition, said, “I assure everyone that mbiabong Ikot Udo Unit 3 will deliver PDP overwhelmingly come February 3 and nothing will stop it”

Comrd. Innocent Udom, VC, Ini Transition Committee assured the candidate of a resounding victory at the February 3rd supplementary election and advised the people to shun anti-party activities and support Dr Glory Edet massively.

The representative of royal fathers and Village Head of Mbiabong Ikot Udo, Eteidung Michael Asuquo opined, “I am a beneficiary of PDP and so, come February 3rd, I will lead my people to vote massively for Dr Glory Edet and PDP”.

Those who also spoke were, Barr. Essien Essien, Political Leader, Iwerre ward 5, Akparwawa Akaninyene Akpan, Ward 5 Chairman, Kufre Ememe, Youth Leader Edem Urua, Obong Okon Udofia, Elder Chief Michael Udo, Mr. Ntiedo Udo, ward Chairman, ward 6, etc
