In the annals of Akwa Ibom State politics, there are lawmakers who are media freak and those who make impact without the camera. Rt. Hon Ime Okon, member representing Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency, falls into the latter category. Despite shying away from the limelight, Okon’s contributions to his constituents have been nothing short of remarkable.

Behind the scenes, Okon has been working tirelessly to promote peace and political stability in Ibiono Ibom and Itu Local government areas respectively.  His efforts have created an enabling environment for development to thrive  and his constituents are beginning to reap the benefits.

On the floor of the National Assembly, Okon has been an advocate for the growth and development of his constituency. He has presented several motions aimed at improving the lives of his people and his oversight functions have been effective in ensuring that government projects are executed to the letter.

Okon’s two-year tenure has been marked by significant milestones. Several ongoing projects are set to be unveiled to his people soon, a testament to his dedication and commitment to their welfare. These projects are a reflection of his vision for a better Itu/Ibiono Ibom federal constituency and his constituents are eagerly anticipating their completion.
