A visual conference aimed at training and inspiring photographers in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is set to hold on Thursday, October 9th, and Friday, October 10th, 2025 @ Vinpy Event Centre,  Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo to add value to photographers in the State and improve their wellbeing.

In a press briefing held in Uyo on Tuesday, Miss Idara Adiakpan, the Special Assistant and Chief Photographer to the Governor, stated that the conference is part of her efforts to give back to the photographic community. Noting that , her consistent visits to photographers at Ibom Plaza demonstrate her determination to touch lives.

Explaining the concept of the visual conference, she hinted that the program is designed to equip photographers with the necessary skills to excel in their field. Added that, the event  will feature experienced photographers  who have risen from scratch share  their thoughts and motivate the participants.

The Chief photographer added that the conference will mark a new era of growth and development in the photography industry as content at the conference will center on creativity, focus and valuable skills that will take their careers to the next level.

“My intention is to empower young photographers and create an environment where their creativity is recognized’’.

Miss Adiakpan , also urged interested photographers to register online for the conference, encouraged them to take advantage of the opportunity to learn and network with industry professionals as the conference is open to all photographers in the state,.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Akwa Ibom State Council, Comrade Nsibiet John, commended Miss Idara Adiakpan for her initiative, stating that it aligns with the Arise Agenda of the governor.

This gesture, he noted, is a welcome development for the society and encouraged her to continue giving back to the community.
