The Apostolic Church, Akwa Ibom State Territory, Sunday School Movement recently concluded its Annual Territorial Sunday School leaders & Teachers Conference, emphasizing the crucial roles and responsibilities within the Movement.
The inaugural conference, held on Saturday, February 10th, took place at the Uyo Field Headquarters, 61 Obio Imo Street, Uyo, featuring the theme “Empowered for Impact” derived from 2 Timothy 2:2.
The conference aimed at promoting effective teaching techniques, incorporating song presentations, lectures, interactive sessions, and prayers to inspire teachers.
Apostle I.B Otuekong, the Territorial Sunday School Movement leader, highlighted the four arms crucial for church spiritual growth: the Reaching arm, Winning arm, Teaching arm, and Caring arm.
The clergy stressed the importance of qualities like being a true born-again Christian, total submission, dedication, passion for soul winning, and humility in service, emphasizing that one can only give what they possess.
He emphasized, “An empty person does not have anything to give unless empowered,” highlighting the significance of leaders experiencing the power of God and passing down undiluted doctrine, teachings, and faith ordinances.
The leader urged teachers to be living examples of God’s word, cultivating a life worth emulating by their learners, fostering repentance, and motivating a wholehearted dedication to serving God.
The clergy underlined the pivotal role of Sunday school teachers in teaching learners to grow in good character and engage fervently with the Bible, emphasizing actions over mere words.
Gratitude was extended to the Territorial Chairman, Apostle E.O Uye JP, for hosting the conference, along with appreciation for the Uyo field Superintendent, Apostle I. N George, and the conference planning committee for ensuring the event’s success.
