Mrs. Imaobong Alfred Charles, wife of the Executive Chairman, Nsit Ubium LGA, on April 13, 2025 officially flagged off the 3rd round of the Big Catch-Up Routine Immunization Intensification Programme at the Primary Health Care Centre, Ikot Edibon.
In her speech, Mrs. Charles emphasized the importance of immunization, adding that it is free, safe, and effective. She encouraged nursing mothers to take proper care of themselves and their babies, and to take advantage of routine immunization whenever it was announced. She also advised pregnant women to ensure they deliver their babies in hospitals for their safety and those of their newborns.
As part of encouragement for mother’s, she presented gift items to some of the attendees, with special attention to those who birthed twins and commended the management and staff of the Primary Health Care Centre for their doggedness at work.
Speaking on behalf of the nursing mothers, Mrs. Emem Godwin Akpan expressed deep appreciation to the First Lady for her generosity and unwavering support to women in the area.
The Vice Chairman, Hon. Pharm. Udeme M. Inwang and the Director of Health in the Local Government, Mrs. Dinah Etuknwa, in their separate remarks lauded Mrs. Charles for her love and dedication to the well-being of mothers and children in the local government.
