The Deputy Speaker of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. KufreAbasi Edidem on Tuesday, declared open the Green Energy Expo 2025 held at the E-Library, Uyo.
In his remarks, Edidem commended the host and co-founder of Energy2Green Innovation Limited, Hon. Idongesit Ituen for championing the clean and renewable energy initiative aimed at providing sustainable and eco-friendly power solutions.
The Deputy Speaker hinted that the National Assembly had amended the Constitution to move the power sector from the Exclusive Legislative List to the Concurrent List, allowing State Assemblies to enact laws promoting clean energy.
He noted that the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly is now positioned to support Governor Umo Eno’s vision of empowering citizens through innovative and sustainable energy solutions, transforming the state into a “destination of purpose.
” The event was graced by dignitaries, including former secretary to the state government, Dr. Emmanuel Ekuwem; Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Bob Otobong and Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ekpenyong, Honorary Special Assistant to the Governor on Legislative Matters, among other key players in the clean energy sector
