Biography Launch Slates, As Dr Goodluck Jonathan Chairs Event In Abuja

The Secretary of the Central Planning Committee of Obong Victor Attah’s 87 birthday, Dr Udeme Nana, has announced that preparations are in top gear for the birthday celebration of the former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, who governed the state between 1999-2007, at NAF  Conference Center, Kado, Abuja, on Thursday, 20/11/2025.

In an interaction with the newsmen on Sunday in Uyo, Nana revealed that the 87th birthday will feature a biography launch of the man who fought for the 13% resource control derivation being enjoyed by the South-South states, adding that the celebration  which will showcase Attah’s contributions to Akwa Ibom State’s and Nigeria’s development will be chaired by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Dr Nana, a Chief Lecturer at the Akwa Ibom State Polytechnic, Ikot Osura and Founder of Uyo Book Club, commended Governor Umo Eno for embarking on people-centric initiatives and implementing the ARISE Agenda, which has boosted the state’s economy.

He also encouraged young people to support Governor Umo Eno’s Arise Agenda, which promises a brighter future for the state.

He highlighted the  economy drivers projects to include,  the ARISE Park, the ongoing  International Conference Center, renovation of the Ibom Icon hotels, massive investment in the agricultural sector, and rural development which has enabled economic growth.

Nana, also mentioned the impressive legacy projects initiated by the former Governor Victor Attah between 1999-2007 to include the  Independent Power Plant, Ibaka Deep Seaport, Science and Technology Park and Ibom Airport amongst others.

The founder of the Uyo Book Club also intimated that, Obong Attah’s advocacy for fiscal federalism and the rule of law in Nigeria as yield positively, saying that his 87th birthday celebration will feature prominent guests, including President Bola Tinubu  as the guest of honor, with Governor Umo Eno as the chief host, Professor Effiong Johnson as the reviewer and Mr. Sam Amuka unveiling the biography.

He described Obong Attah’s dedication to public service and his impact on Akwa Ibom State’s development as truly remarkable, urging Akwa Ibomites to celebrate a visionary leader who transformed the state by prioritizing rural development.
