In a bid to effectively represent the people of Uyo Federal Constituency, Rt Hon. Mark Esset, Ph.D, member representing Uyo/Uruan/Nsit Atai/Ibesikpo Asutan Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, is set to host a Town Hall Meeting/Constituency Briefing and Empowerment Programme for his constituents on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the Ibom Hall Grounds, Uyo.
During a media parley in Uyo over the weekend, the federal lawmaker revealed that elders, women and youths across the 42 political wards of the federal constituency will receive empowerment packages, including cash, motor vehicles, mini buses, keke Napep, cargo tricycles, deep freezers, sewing machines, generators and hair dryers among others.
Rt Hon. Esset emphasized his commitment to inclusive and responsive representation, citing his previous roles as Executive Chairman of Nsit Atai Local Government Area and member representing Nsit Atai State Constituency in the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly.
He highlighted his contributions to people-centric laws, including sponsoring bills and motions aimed at promoting national unity, youth empowerment and good governance.
Some of the notable bills and motions sponsored by Rt Hon. Mark Esset include the Higher National Diploma Discrimination Bill, the Constitution Alteration Bill, motions on monitoring presidential directives, investigating corrupt activities and reviewing international flight costs.
The lawmaker also showcased his effective representation, citing training programs for constituents on agriculture, kaolin mining, sustainable agriculture, poultry farming, and snail farming, with empowerment funds totaling millions of naira.
Additionally, he said he has attracted infrastructural development to the constituency, including road constructions, community town halls and solar-powered boreholes.
He further added that, the empowerment program will benefit constituents across the four local government areas and reiterated his dedication to serving the people and improving their quality of life.
