A coalition of a non-profit organization and a political support group has declared support for Governor Umo Eno’s second term ambition in 2027.

The declaration was made during a joint press conference by the Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo Foundation and the Governor Umo Eno 2027 & Beyond Advocates (G-10) held at the NUJ press center, Uyo, on Thursday, 8th October 2026.

Addressing the press, Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo, hinted the Foundation and G-10 has resolved to support the candidacy of Governor Umo Eno in the 2027 elections and urged other support groups, Akwa Ibomites and residents to do same.

Dr. Blessed Udo-Ekpo who was represented by Pastor John Archibong intimated that Dr. Udo-Ekpo is not a politician but a private citizen, noting that it’s the first time the Foundation is declaring support for a politician out of strong conviction.

He disclosed that the Foundation, founded in 2005, has for 21 years pursued humanitarian programmes including award of scholarships, provision of research grants to final-year students, building and donation of Compassionate Homes, donation of water projects, donation of minibuses and tricycles for transport business start-ups, vocational training sponsorships and Academic Excellence Awards for best graduating students in Chemical/Petrochemical Engineering, Akwa Ibom State University and Environmental Management, University of Calabar.

On the formation of G-10, he quoted Deuteronomy 32:30, that “one shall chase a thousand and two shall chase ten thousand,” explaining that the Foundation and other support groups decided to coalesce their support for the Governor as a united front now known as Governor Umo Eno 2027 & Beyond Advocates (G-10).

According to him, Governor Umo Eno’s ARISE Agenda aligns with the Foundation’s humanitarian vision.

He however listed Governor Eno’s people-centric programmes to include building of Compassionate Homes across the 31 LGAs, provision of water projects, establishment of Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) and Ibom LED, building of Model Schools and Model Hospitals, Agricultural Equipment Leasing Company, Elderly People’s Home, empowerment through minibuses, tricycles and grants, payment of additional benefits to Youth Corpers, construction of over 1,500km of roads, provision of foodstuffs to vulnerable citizens, reclamation of gully site into Ibom Palm Resort, construction of 1042 housing units for civil servants, construction of Medical City, revamping of Ibom Tropicana Project, approval of N31 billion for human capacity building (N1 billion per LGA), promotion of tree-crop planting, timely payment of salaries and leave grants, support for non-indigenes and provision of N500,000 each to 1,776 private schools in the State.

The group expressed belief that with prayers and active support, Governor Eno will continue to execute more life-touching projects in his second term.
